MediCare24's Response to COVID-19 Pandemic
COVID-19; or better known as the Coronavirus, is a highly contagious disease that share similar characteristics to the SARS (Severe Acute Respitory Syndrome / SARS-CoV) virus that first appeared in 2002 in China.
Like the SARS virus, the Coronavirus primarily attacks the lungs and respitory system and may cause fever, dry coughs, headaches, diarrhea and difficulty breathing.
First identified on the 17th of November 2019, COVID-19 has evolved into a global pandemic; causing thousands of deaths, thousands more infections and the implementation of drastic global measures in the fight against mass spreading of the disease.
The South African government, in response to the rapid rise of localised cases, have implemented several measures to mitigate the spread of the virus. With a national lockdown in effect; this is the time to stand together as a nation in support of our government's efforts.
The practice of social distancing, proper hygiene and strict implementation and compliance of the Disaster Management Act (2002); all of which are efforts to minimise the spread of the virus, which will heed more effective results.
